Ed passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 64 years. He was born in Bay City on December 21, 1956 to Al and Winnie (French) Geno. He married the former Dawn Diaz on April 30, 1977 and they were married for 44 years. Ed worked for McLaren Bay Region for many years as a critical care and ICU nurse. He retired 2 ½ months ago from Bay Special Care. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, gardening, cutting grass, working in his garage and playing Keno. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his wife, Dawn; children, Edward N. Geno III, Ryan (Kristi) Geno and Nicole (Jason) Braun; grandchildren, Lydia, Isaac and Luca Geno, Carter and Grace Braun; parents, Al and Winnie Geno; father-in-law, Joseph J. II and Sherry Diaz; sister, Cindy and Tony Sakon and their children, Michael (Carla) Alderson and Michelle (Scott) Martin; brother-in-law, Joseph J. Diaz III and children, Curtis (Victoria), Angela, Joseph J. Diaz IV; sister-in-law, Peggy (Michael) Riblett and their children, Michael Riblett and Trina Reno, Colleen (Charles) Cole; sister-in-law, Lynn and William Chipps; sister-in-law, Dione and Art Irish and their children, Sean Irish and Elizabeth (Tyler Morse) Irish; sister-in-law, Tracey and Duane Walczak and their children, Taylor, Aubrey and Ethan Walczak; sister-in-law, Jackie Diaz and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Cremation has taken place and a visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. In lieu of flowers. The family request donation to a college fund for his grandchildren. Ed always pushed for education. Ed improved many lives throughout his career as a nurse and continues to this day through his generous donation to the Gift of Life program. The family would like to send a special thank you to Amanda on day shift ICU at McLaren for the wonderful care that she gave to Ed and his family.
