Our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully Sunday, November 1, 2015 at his residence in the care of his loving family and his dedicated caregiver Amanda Decker. Age 59 years. He was born July 23, 1956 in Detroit. Mike graduated from New Haven High School in 1975, was a member of Wisner United Methodist Church and retired from Tower Automotive. Mike had a great love for traveling, vacationing, cruises, camping, music and most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Left behind to cherish his memories is wife of thirty three years Laurie Decker whom he married August 13, 1982, four children and their spouses; Barbara and Chad Goss of Bay City, Brandy and Mark Martinez of Port Austin, Anthony and Amy Decker of Bay City and Amanda Decker and her fiancé Nick Plummer of Bay City, seven loving grandchildren; Jasmine Martinez, Jessyca Martinez, Makayla Goss, Jewlyon Martinez, Marcus Martinez, Samantha Goss and Brooklyn Decker-White, his mother; Dolores Clark, his father; John (Maryann ) Decker, six brothers and sisters; Cindy (Bob) Humes, William (Fiancé Denise) Decker, Gerianne (John) Cerilli, Laurie (Dave) Buckley, Patrick Decker and Dianne (Dave) Gardner, his mother-in-law; Barbara Wilson, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Diane (Rick) Young, Jeff (Amy) Begley, Charles (Jean) Begley, Patti (Tom) Beson, Marian (Scott Galea) Jean and Jen (Jerry) Ronk and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law; Leon Begley and one sister-in-law; Joanne Decker.
Funeral and Committal Services will take place Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Hopevale Church 4873 N. Center Road Saginaw, Michigan. Officiating will be Pastor Ken MacGillivray. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home and Cremation Services to receive visitors on Tuesday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mike will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
