Adam Kipfmiller Jr. passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 86 years. The son of the late Adam Sr. and Barbara Foerster Kipfmiller was born March 21, 1928 in Bay City, Michigan. Adam was a lifelong member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and held various offices in the church and also sang in the church choir. He was employed by American Hoist for 37 years, retiring in 1983. Adam served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant from 1950-1952 during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by two nephews: the Rev. David Kipfmiller of Mount Pleasant and the Rev. Mark (Donna) Kipfmiller of Flat Rock; four nieces: Barbara Graves of Plymouth, Marie (Jim) Price of Hudsonville, Ruth (Anthony) Sullivan of Milan, IL and Linda (Glenn) Ebeling of Muskego, WI, also by eight great-nephews: Forrest (Vicki) Graves III, Ryan Stewart, Paul (Elyse) and Sean Sullivan, Adam, Aaron, and Austin Kipfmiller, Joshua Ebeling; also by six great nieces: Stephanie (Scott) Lorber, and Stacie Graves, Michelle (Dale) Bannick and Janine (Scott) Wagner, Katie Kipfmiller, Jennifer Ebeling. Adam was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and sisters-in-law: the Rev. Clifford (Olitha) Kipfmiller, and Harry (Pearl) Kipfmiller; one sister and brother-in-law, Marie (William) Pelletier, a half-brother Theo. Herbolsheimer, one nephew, Paul Kipfmiller and one niece, Joanne Herbolsheimer. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Mountain and Jane St. Officiating will be Pastors Paul E. Schaewe and Paul E. Schweppe with interment following at Oak Ridge Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Kipfmiller will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorials may be given to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Building Fund.
