Haddad, Alfred (Al) (Silver Fox) of Bay City, Michigan passed away Monday morning June 25, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 89 years. The son of the late George and Donna Haddad was born May 23, 1923 in Staunton, IL and has resided in Bay City for the last sixty six years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church for sixty four years and where he served as an usher for over fifty years. He was a painting contractor and owned and operated Werth and Haddad Decorating for thirty plus years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, playing cards and football and was an avid sports fan. Mr. Haddad served with the United States Navy and received a medical discharge. Al was a former member of the F.O.E. Aries 1010, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 169, B.P.O.E. Lodge # 88, D.A.V and the Bay County Home Builders Association. He served as President of the Board of Directors of Credit Union Plus, a member of the Third Degree Knights of Columbus # 414, a member of Fourth Degree Bishop Murphy Assembly # 0491 and the Color Corps. On April 10, 1948 he married the former Irene M. Dombrowski and she survives his passing along with three children; Donna Nephew, George Haddad and Ted Haddad, two grandchildren; Tiffany Andrzejewski-Keyser and her friend; Chad Luster and Donelle Gougeon, one great grandchild all of Bay City, one sister; Vanita Haddad and many nieces and nephews all of Gillespie, IL. He was preceded in death by one son-in-law; Thomas J. Nephew, one sister; Mary Behrens and one brother; Alex Haddad. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his personal Doctors who all knew him as a friend. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place Friday, June 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm with private burial in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. Members of the Bay County Veterans Council will conduct Military Honors at the church following the mass. The family will be present at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. to receive visitors on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Members of the Knights of Columbus # 414 will meet at the funeral home Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. for the Bible Presentation followed by the Chalice Presentation. Mr. Haddad will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. For those considering a memorial contribution the family ask that you consider a memorial to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or to the Wishes of the family for a memorial to be established in memory of Mr. Haddad at a later time.
