Alice passed away peacefully on April 27, 2021 at her home, with her family by her side at the age of 80. She was born on January 24, 1941 to the late Harold and Garnetta (Colby) Dishaw in Bay City, Michigan. Alice loved knitting, crocheting and playing bingo. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing card games with her family, hand and foot was one of her favorites. She also enjoyed going camping and fishing.
Alice is survived by her children, Tina (Tony) Militello, Lori (Robert) Courier, Michael (Lori) Briggs, Shelly (Matthew) DeBats and Crystal (Howard) Jacobs; sisters, Debbie Altergott and Mary Dishaw; brothers, Jim (Moni) Dishaw and Allan (Connie) Dishaw; sister-in-law, Bernice Dishaw, her dog, that she loved so very much, Cujo; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Alice is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Michael Briggs; brother-in-law, David Altergott; brother, Harold "Buck" Dishaw and sister, Nancy (Fred) Hages.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the American Home and Health Hospice, especially her nurse, Kristin Lipinski and Amanda. The family would also like to thank the Monitor Fire and Rescue Department for always being there for them. The family would also like to extend a very special thank you to her daughters, Lori, Shelly, Tina, Crystal and her granddaughters, Renee, Trisha, Julie and Ajaha. We couldn't have done it without all of you.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Radiant Church at 12:30 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Marco Salazar. The family will be present from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Home and Health Hospice and St. Jude Children's Hospital. The church is located on 2820 N. Euclid Ave. Bay City, MI 48706.
