Alice E. Brockway

Mrs. Alice E. Brockway, of Bay City, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Carriage House at the age of 99. The daughter of the late Vincent & Josephine (Kowalski) Oldinski, she was born August 1, 1924 in Bay City. Alice was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was formerly a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church. On August 21, 1948, she married Bernard E. Brockway (Brock) and he preceded her in death on February 15, 2008.
Mrs. Brockway is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell & Patricia Brockway of Waterford and Dale & Yoko Brockway of Auburn, Alabama; a grandson, David Brockway; great granddaughter, Remi (Jaymes) Brockway; and a sister-in-law, Frances Oldinski. Alice was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin and Stanley Oldinski; and five sisters, Romaine Gibas, Virginia (Ruby) Morel, and Edna (Peg) Hover, Mary Marchlewicz and Grace Hagen; four brothers-in-law, Floyd Gibas, Fred Hover, Edmund Marchlewicz, and Owen Hagen; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Oldinski.
It was Mrs. Brockway’s desire that cremation take place. A private Rite of Committal and interment will be held at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. For those who so desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
