Alice was called home to be with her heavenly father Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Bay County Medical Care Facility in Essexville, Michigan at the age of 96. She was born on September 1, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Frederick and Louise (VonLauchner) Wager. Alice was a member a Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church. She also attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Saginaw when she was younger and graduated from Saginaw High. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing yardwork, gardening, playing cards and playing the organ. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with them, and also enjoyed the family get togethers. She was a fun and loving mother and grandmother. She loved her dogs, Blacky, Scrubby, Jeep and Herman.
Alice is survived by her two daughters, Joe Ann Davis of Bay City, Michigan and Cheri Call of Bay City, Michigan; grandchildren, Allie Call and Willow Call; sister-in-law, Pauline Urlaub; several nieces and nephews and many Lauchner and Wager cousins in Saginaw. Alice married the late Lyle Miller on October 19, 1946 and they spent over 61 wonderful years together before his passing on March 5, 2008. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Fred Wager, Robert Wager and William Wager; sisters, Dorothy Davis, Ruth (Jim) Whalen, Jean (Gene) Wygard, JoAnne (Arthur) Whitney, Joyce (Bruce) Sweet and Helen (Wallace) Minard; sister-in-law's, Shirley Wager, Noreen Wager, Clara (Leon) Deslie-Schultz and Roger Urlaub; brother-in-law, Emmons (Josephine) Miller, Arthur (Clara) Miller, Walter (Mildred) Miller and Roger Urlaub.
Funeral Service will take place on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Zach Steinke. The family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the Gephart Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church.
