Alvina Louise Hoppe

Alvina passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Bay Shores Nursing Center at the age of 96. She was born to the late Leonard and Ida (Jammer) Dietlein on January 30, 1927 in Bay City, Michigan. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Alvina was an avid reader, liked to bowl and loved baking for her family. She babysat her grandchildren when they were younger and watched them grow up, which let to the unbreakable bond that she had with them. She was always laughing throughout life no matter what happened. She married the loved of her life, Roy Hoppe, on October, 29, 1949 who passed in 1981, she is now reunited with him in Heaven.

Alvina is survived by her son, Rick (Jill) Hoppe; grandchildren, Amber (Robert) Holdwick, Jayson Hoppe and Ashley Hoppe; great grandchildren, Audrey, William and Ethan Holdwick; sister-in-law, Louise Hoppe of Port Orchard, WA; nieces and nephew, Kathy Sheppard, Keith Hoppe and Karen Jordan and several cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Otto and Harriet Hoppe; brother and sister-in-law, Harold (Margaret) Dietlein; brother-in-law, Wilbur Hoppe and nieces, Eileen Malleck and Patricia Baldwin.

The family of Alvina would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff at Bay Shores Nursing Center in the Michigan wing.

Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church with interment to follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Joel Pankow. The family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home and on Tuesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church.
