Anna Mae Wires

Anna Mae Wires, age 99, a resident of Oakwood Village in Springfield, Ohio, formerly of Bay City, Michigan stepped into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Anna Mae was born in Bay City Michigan on September 6, 1922, the daughter of Howard and Ophia (Archambeau) Marsh. She was educated in the Bay City school system and graduated from Bay City Central High School.  On May 19, 1945 she was united in marriage to Lawrence E. Wires, sharing 60 years of married life together.  They loved to travel, eat out, and had a special way of meeting needs of others.  When her boys were in their early teens, she began working outside their home.  She was employed by Severance Tool, Inc.; the W.R. Knepp & Co.; and for 15 years at the Bay County Road Commission as office manager. She was an organizer and very good with figures.  Anna Mae was active in the work of South Baptist Church, Bay City, Michigan as a Sunday School teacher, Financial Secretary/Treasurer, and Deaconess until she moved to Ohio and then fellowshipped with Champion Baptist Church, Champion, Ohio.
As their boys married and the family increased, they enjoyed fun gatherings that featured her delicious meals and decorated home. There are many memories of playing games at the kitchen table and singing around the player piano and organ.

At the age of 14, she realized that she was lost and need saving. She accepted the work that Jesus Christ did on the cross of Calvary as her own. Her favorite Scripture text from 1 John 3 included this verse, "Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure."

Missing her, but looking forward to be reunited in Heaven are Lawrence D. Wires (Mary Ellen) and Richard P. Wires (Norma); five cherished grandchildren: Melissa Karas (Andrew), Joel Wires (Amber), Stacey Klotzbach (Craig), Julie Clark (Matthew), and Stephen Wires (Katie). Her love was extended to her sixteen great-grandchildren, Abram and Rosalyn Karas; Wesley, Olivia, Megan, and Taylor Wires; Kaylie, Carter, Brycen, and Kelem Klotzbach; Madison, Braden and Kinslee Clark; Bella, Evelyn, and Henry Wires. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Kirkpatrick with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
