Arlene passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Bayfield Assisted Living at the age of 92 years. She was born on September 25, 1928 to the late Louis and Sylvia (Knoodle) Gary. Arlene married Arlin F. Obermiller on June 26, 1948 and he preceded her in death on February 9, 2006. Arlene worked for over 25 years for Peoples National Bank which later changed to First of America Bank, where she held a head teller position throughout her career. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, volunteering at church, listening and dancing to polka music, dinners and dances at the Lutheran Fellowship Association, watching the kids play soccer, her pets and working in the yard tending to her flowers.
Arlene is survived by her children, Cheryl Crook, Bruce (Lori) Obermiller, Randy Obermiller and Keith (Susie) Obermiller; grandchildren, Scott Crook, Stacy Sniecinski, Andrew Crook, Amy Jo (Ozcan) Kulac, Abbie Jean Obermiller, Miranda Obermiller and Dominic Obermiller; great grandchildren, Dylan, Kayla, Nazim, Zeke and Cam; sister, Geraldine DeShano and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Vivian Grappin and Elaine Socia and son-in-law, Ted Crook.
Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Jacob Reich with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church on Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Face masks and social distancing will be observed in the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church.
