Arthur R. Joitke

Arthur passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 85 years. He was born in Bay City on April 4, 1937 to the late Otto and Lidia (Laubhan) Joitke. On May 10, 1958 he married the former Lois Damm in Bay City and they were married for 64 years. Arthur was an active member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran church where he loved singing in the choir and was a 50 years choir member. His other passion was running and marathons. He had accomplished running in 9 Boston Marathons and ran the 100th marathon in Boston. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Paul (Becky), Neal and Mark (Alesya) Joitke; grandchildren, Alex, Oliver and Olivia Joitke. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold Joitke.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Joel Pankow with interment following in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Contributions may be made to the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church general fund.
