Arthur Pfund

February 22, 1926 — April 6, 2023

Arthur Pfund

Arthur Pfund born into the family of Otto and Amelia Pfund on February 22, 1926 and born anew into the family of God through the waters of Holy Baptism at Trinity Monitor Lutheran Church.
Arthur was blessed with a long life of 97 years with which he used to do many things. Those people can recall are his service to his country in World War II as an infantryman in the Army’s 9th Armored Division. He served in many ways most unnoticed by others. Less noticed ways but still remembered are by mowing the lawn at Faith Lutheran Church, by being a faithful husband to Lorna (Wiesenauer) whom he married on February 20, 1960. Although Arthur only attended school until 8th grade he worked hard, saved well, and gave his children college educations.
Art is remembered as a man who lived his life “to the best of his human nature and ability” with an itch to travel, go out onto the bay for hours bringing home caught fish, and playing cards even up to the last months of his life. Arthur’s children Susan Pfund and Jeffrey (Ann) along with his grandchildren Jacob and Aaron Pfund want to thank Wellspring Lutheran Services Hospice. They are grateful for the care and loving support his new friend Alyssa Staley gave him and his family. “Case closed.”
Arthur was called to rest on April 6, 2023, where he awaits in hope, by faith in his risen Lord Jesus Christ, his own glorious resurrection on the Last Day.
Arthur is survived by his daughter, Susan Pfund; son, Jeffrey (Ann) Pfund; two grandchildren, Jacob Pfund and Aaron Pfund; sister Viola (Alvin) Sommer and sister-in-law Edna (Wiesenauer) Kennedy. In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Lorna Pfund (Wiesenauer); sisters, Edna (Armin) Muehlfeld, Ruth Finkbeiner, Laura Weiss, Leona Kaiser and brothers, Harold, Ervin, and Richard Pfund.
