Barbara passed away peacefully Thursday, August 8, 2019 at her home with her family by her side at the age of 77 years. Barbara was born in Bay City on April 27, 1942 to the late Gustive and Irene (Kaliszewski) Langenburg. Barb graduated in 1960 from T.L. Handy High School and then went on to work for and retire from Bay City Public Schools with 32 years of service as a bus driver. She married Delmar Lutz on June 17, 1961 and he survives her. Together they shared 58 years of marriage. Barbara was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust and in her spare time enjoyed BINGO, casino trips, camping and Detroit Tiger baseball. Most of all she enjoyed her time with family and friends.
Left to cherish Barb's memory are her husband, Delmar; three children, Deborah (Domingo) Autran, Michael (Michelle) Lutz and Lori (Roger Nickel) Rugenstein; six grandchildren, Briana (Matt Mayer), Jason (Marissa), Brandon, Nicholas (Courtney), Devin and Aubrie; great granddaughter, Piersyn; seven brothers and one sister, Martin (Mary), Edward (Kathy), Jerry (Karen), Robert (Cathy), Mike (Laura), Tom (Lynn), Donald (Cam) and Kate (David) Klein and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust on Thursday, August 15, 2019. Officiating will be Rev. Kurt Eichinger with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Lutz will be taken to the church to lie in state on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to make a memorial contribution to St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund or a Charity of One's Choice.
