Benjamin F. Parsons "Ben"

Ben passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Colonnades Assisted Living at the age of 99 years.  He was born on February 3, 1923 in Linwood, Michigan to the late Benjamin and Jennie (Eldridge) Parsons.  Ben proudly served his county in the United States Navy in World War II.  On November 24, 1998 he married the former Una B. Ziolkowski (Barrett) and they were married for 24 years.  Ben was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish - St. Vincent De Paul and was on the Altar Society.  He retired from Ford Motor Company after many years as a brick mason.  He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 874 in Florida and a lifetime member of the VFW.
Ben is survived by his wife, Una; children, Craig (Linda) Parsons and Cheryl (Roy) Czarnomski, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; step-children, Ric Ziolkowski, Nona Reinsch, Blaine Ziolkowski and Kevin (Lori) Ziolkowski and four step-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Zawislak, daughter, Cynthia Groh; step son-in-law, Larry Reinsch and twelve brothers and sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff at Colonnades Assisted Living and Harmony Cares Hospice for Ben's excellent care and emotional support to the family.
At the request of Ben, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will take place on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish with military honors to follow. The family will be present to receive visitors at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass.
