Brenda Ann Mahoney

Brenda passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at New Hope Bay in Bay City. She was born to the late Frank Griggs and Florence (Lambert) Rynarzewski on October 21, 1933 in London, England. She was deeply proud of her English heritage and, as a young child, survived the World War II bombings in London, England. She attended All Saints Parish. She enjoyed reading and volunteered to read to the 2nd and 3rd grade students at McAlear-Sawden Elementary School. She was an animal lover, especially dogs, and volunteered with several local animal shelters. She loved her flowers and gardening and would find joy in listening to many different types of music.

Brenda cherished traveling alongside her husband of 38 years, Jack Mahoney. Together, they traveled across the United States by RV, creating lasting memories as they explored many states and spent their winters in Florida. She was always supporting her grandchildren and attended their many sporting events and activities.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Jack Mahoney, stepdaughters, Caroline (Spencer) Price, Sheila (Mitch) Miller and Kellie Picard (significant other, Jeff); grandchildren, Virginia Price (Fiancé Cooper), Chad (Amy) Arnold, Nick (Laura) Arnold, Taylor (Ken) Lange, Paige Picard (Fiancé Evan) and Peyton (Bella) Picard; great grandchildren, Brayden, Connor and Emersyn Arnold, Jackson and Granger Arnold and one more on the way; sister-in-law, Marge Griggs; nieces and nephews, Mike, Jackie (Pete), Debby, Suzy and Jim; great nephews, Stefan, Andrew and Camren; great nieces, Darien Griggs and Samantha Griggs and many of Jacks beloved family members who held a special place in her heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved adventure dog, Panda; brothers, Norman Griggs and Jeff Griggs and nephew, Steve Griggs.

In honoring Brenda’s wishes, a private entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in the Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made in Brenda’s name to the Bay County Humane Society.
