Calvin "Cal" O. Johnston

Johnston, Calvin O. "Cal" Bay City, Michigan Mr. Johnston passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Caretel Inn of the Tri-Cities. Age 83 years. He was born August 10th, 1926 in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan. Cal was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Throughout his life he supported and enjoyed his family. He was very active in Little League, pony, colt and American Legion baseball. Cal loved bowling and golfing. He was a member of the Bowling 700 club, Euclid Avenue Business Association, Bangor Booster Club, the B.P.O.E. # 88 and attended First United Methodist Church. He was the manager of Denno's furniture for 18 years. Then he worked part-time for Tri-City furniture in Auburn. And served in the US Army in the South Pacific. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Shirley, his son and daughter-in-law; John and Pamela (Currie) Johnston, 3 grandchildren; Kelly and Zac Van Wagner, Keegan and Christopher Chapman, and Keith Johnston, 3 great grandchildren; McKenna Van Wagner Rowan and Rori Chapman, sister-in-law; Kay Voisine and brother in-law; Jack Schmerheim. He leaves several very special nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Michelle and Jim Richardson for their continuing love and support. At Cal's request cremation has taken place and no services or visitation is planned at the Gephart Funeral H ome.
