Carol Ann (Kozuch) Reed

Carol Ann (Kozuch) Reed, left this world on June 10 after a long and courageous battle with Mesothelioma. She always held positive attitude during her difficult cancer journey.
She had a beautiful and giving heart and knew no strangers. Carol’s many years of nursing in Bay City meant everyone she met had some connection to someone else she knew.
Her role as Nana was vast and loving. It encompassed making every event possible, even in the last weeks of her illness. Being the eldest of six, she held a matriarchal role, and was dearly loved and respected by her siblings. She was absolutely adored by her many nieces and nephews. Carol loved gardening and her gorgeous flower gardens were looked forward to every summer. Pink tulips being her favorite flower. She held a deep faith in Catholicism. That faith helped her maintain the optimism and strength that extended her life. Her giving spirit and upbeat personality will remain with all the lives she has touched over the years. She was also a proud member and girlfriend of the Flamingo Girls, and her West Catholic/St. Mary’s Circle Girls. They met regularly for laughs and fun.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband, William “Butch” Reed, loving sons Jason (Lisa) Reed, Andy (Bekah) Reed, adoring grandchildren Ava, Bella, Amelia, Max and Will Reed. Siblings, William (Fritzi Stevenson) Kozuch, Jeanne (Bill) Allsopp, Richard (Shelley Niedzwiecki) Kozuch and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Carol was born on August 27, 1949, and was predeceased by her parents, Isidore (Easy) and Joan Kozuch, and brothers Dan and Dave.

Carol’s family would also like to thank her team of many doctors and their staff from MIMichigan Health and the University of Michigan, who provided her with the excellent care that helped extend her life, and allow her more quality time with everyone. Her last days were spent peacefully at Mary Free Bed in Saginaw and Toni and Trish House in Auburn. Many thanks for their compassionate support.

A memorial Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Corpus Christi Parish. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Pat O’Connor. Private Inurnment will take place at a later date in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Carol’s family will greet friends and family at Gephart Funeral Home on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. In honoring the wishes of Carol, in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to Toni and Trish House, Auburn, MI.
