Carolyn Lee Sermon

Carolyn passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 9, 2024 at the Bay County Medical Care Facility in Essexville, Michigan at the age of 82. She was born on January 22, 1942 to the late Joseph and Doris (Booth) Sermon in Bay City, Michigan. Carolyn was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was very active in the Church community. She was a member of the worship committee and attended bible study regularly. She was also a member of several book clubs. She graduated from Handy High School in 1960 and received her Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. Carolyn lived a very simple life and enjoyed reading, cooking, knitting, doing needlepoint and traveling in her younger years. She was a lover of dogs and appreciated music. She loved going to Mussell Beach Drive In with her friend Judy every Sunday after church.

Carolyn is survived by her nephew, Robert (Jill) Sermon Jr.; great niece, Reagan Sermon; great nephews, Edward L. Cochran and Charles H. Cochran; several cousins and good friends, Judy Lumsden and Judy Knopp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Sermon Sr.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church – West Campus. Officiating will be Pastor Eric Kieb. The family will be present to receive visitors at the Church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bay County Humane Society.
