Trompeter, Cecelia A. (Donahue). 86, died peacefully in her home on October 27, 2021, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born September 15, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Stephen Francis and Mary Elizabeth (Sullivan) Donahue. The youngest of 12, she attended Mount St. Scholastica Academy in Atchison, Kansas. She married Thomas E. Trompeter on June 30, 1956. A loving wife and mother, Ceal also worked for 25 years for the Bay Arenac Intermediate School District, retiring as Assistant to the Superintendent in 1998. She and her husband, Tom, were active parishioners at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, formerly known as St. Vincent de Paul Church. After retirement, Ceal volunteered for Hospice, Mobile Meals, and the American Red Cross, and supported numerous charities dedicated to peace and human rights. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and pampering her beloved dog, Holli. Ceal was predeceased by her husband, Tom, in 2009, her parents, 6 brothers, 5 sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, all beloved. Left to cherish her memory are her 5 children, Tim Trompeter, Mary (Gene Rademacher) Sutton, John (Kathy Hofius) Trompeter, Jim (Tammi) Trompeter, and Ann Chapleau, along with 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Although she was born the baby of her family, she became our matriarch, and was a role model of compassion, service, and faith.
