Mrs. Werner passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Sheffield Bay Assisted Living at the age of 87. The daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie (Ouillette) Fortier was born August 10, 1934 in Manistee, Michigan. Mrs. Werner was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and enjoyed crafting, camping, gardening, bowling, cribbage and dancing, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Charlene is survived by her children, Mark (Lisa) Werner, Tammy (Jim) Metevia, Mike (Deb) Werner, Denise (Scott) Majeske and Brad (Jenny) Werner; grandchildren, Andrea (Chris), Nicholas, Brent, Marcie, Melissa (Ryan), Stacey (Chris), Tracey (Eric), Allen, Tiffany, Andrew (Becca), Jeremy (Kim), Josh (Sara), Jeffery (Laura), Katelyn (Craig), Christopher (Anna), Jacob and Madeline and many loving great grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Sue Werner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Louis Charles Werner; son, Craig Werner and her grandson, Mark Werner Jr.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the amazing staff at Sheffield Bay and Cardinal Hospice for the care that they gave to Charlene.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Corpus Christi Parish. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Kelm. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Werner will be taken to the church to lie in state on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial Cards for Corpus Christi Parish will be available at the funeral home.
