Charles Bologna

Charles passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, June 5, 2026 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 72. He was born on March 13, 1954 to the late Simone and Rita (Wasilewski) Bologna in Detroit, Michigan. He retired after 35 years from Ford Sterling Axle Plant, represented by UAW Local 228, as a tool and die maker. In his spare time, Charles was a mechanic on the side and enjoyed learning and experimenting with pyrotechnics and entomology. He was also a historian, an avid coin collector, enjoyed airplane modeling and learning about aviation. Most importantly, he was family oriented, very generous and the life of the party.

Charles is survived by his son, Brian (Danielle) Bologna; grandchildren, Brian Charles Bologna, Sofia Simone Bologna, Farrah Giovanni Bologna, Felecia Gabriella Bologna and Rebecca Ann Gibson; great grandchildren, Armin Grossman and Charlotte Renae Grossman; sister, Rita Marie Deanna; special friends, Lynn Heide, Jeff Powers and Jamie Randall Brown and Brian’s mom, Deborah Wais. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Williams.

In honoring the wishes of Charles, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wishes of the Family.
