Charles passes away Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side at the age of 95 years. He was born in Bay City on November 23, 1926 to the late Gilbert and Agnes (Sauve) LaLonde. He married the former Ruth Nantais on August 28, 1948 in Detroit and she passed away on December 27, 2015 after 67 years of marriage. Charles was a member of Plumbers Local 85 in Saginaw. He served his country in the United States Army and was later a member of the VFW and the Bay County Veterans Council. He enjoyed gardening, canning and spending time with his family.
Charles is survived by sons, Edward (Vickie), William (Pamela) and John (Brenda) LaLonde; grandchildren, Heather (Justin) Heidtman, Charlie (Shari) LaLonde, Melanie (Bill) Flynn, Kevin Hoeppner, Aurora LaLonde, Lauren (Tadd) Behmlander, William (Kelly) LaLonde and Amy (Gabe) Blair; great grandchildren, Collin, Dylan, Henry, William, Bill, Makalah, Mark, Alexandria, Emma, Abraham, Mariah, Jase, Journey, Alexis, Savannah and Farah and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Our Lady of Peace Parish. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John Sarge with rite of committal in St. Patrick's Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends and family may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. LaLonde will be taken to the church to lie in state on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
