Dale Newton Stevens

Dale passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Bay City Comfort Care at the age of 77. He was born to the late Newton and Helen (Weiss) Stevens on January 31, 1949 in Bay City. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years. He attended St. Paul Lutheran School and continued his education at T.L. Handy High School. He worked lawn maintenance for different cemeteries and later worked as a laborer for Michigan Sugar. Dale loved going up to the family property in Twining and working the fields and cutting the grass. He also enjoyed riding his bike around town.

Dale is survived by his siblings, Diane Davis and her significant other, Daniel Nowak, Michael (Linda) Stevens and Rodger Stevens; nieces and nephews, Timothy (Ashley) Davis and their children, Aaron and Austin, Chris (LeAnn) Davis and their son, Morgan (Megan) and family, Joel (Brooke) Stevens, Todd (Ashley) Stevens and their children, Jonathan and Bryan, Holly Bigelow, her significant other, Matt Prchlik, and her son, Adam and special cousins, Charlotte Huber and Marsha (Duane) LaFond and many other cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Veronica Stevens.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Bay City Comfort Care and his Compassus Hospice nurse, Amber, for all their care and support they have shown Dale and the family.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Matyas. Interment will be held at Floral Gardens Cemetery after the service. The family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Gephart Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Dale’s name to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Wishes of the Family.
