Daniel Joseph Koenigs

Daniel Joseph Koenigs Sr. Linwood, Michigan Our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 17, 2016 at his residence. Age 58 years. The son of the late Edmund Joseph and Norma Jean (Brashaw) Koenigs was born March 15, 1957 in Bay City, Michigan has resided in this area all of his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1976 to 1980 and was a member of the NRA. Dan was currently employed at Michigan Pipe and Valve with thirty years of service and most of all he loved spending time at his home. On May 24, 1976 he married his wife of thirty nine years the former Betty Cody and she survives his passing along with two sons and one daughter; Daniel Koenigs Jr., Keri Washam and Craig Koenigs, eight grandchildren; Tyler, Lindsay, Logan, Hannah, Colin, William, Aiden and Jocelyn, three sisters and two brothers-in-law; Leslie and Jack Rayfield, Allison Billingsley and Melanie and Russ Ginther, one brother; Thomas (Doreen) Koenigs, numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews cousins and friends. Besides his parents Edmund and Norma he was preceded in death by one brother; William Paul Koenigs and two nieces. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with Cremation following at the Sunset Valley Crematory. The family will be present at the funeral home on Thursday to receive visitors from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the "Wishes of the Family".
