Daniel F. Whitney

Whitney, Daniel F. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Whitney passed away late Friday evening January 25, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 78 years. He was born December 8, 1934 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. Dan retired from Bay City Chevrolet as a welder, he was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, NASCAR and snowmobiling. On November 10, 1956 he married the former Marjorie A. Solgat at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church and she survives his passing along with four children; Kimberly (Ron Bowen) Whitney of Bay City, Deborah (Robert) Glover of Essexville, Daniel J. (Sherry) Whitney of Grayling and Karen (Neil) Froncek of Bay City, eleven grandchildren; D.J., Ryan (Lia), Cameron (Molly) Jared (Tia), Mallori, Miranda, Kevin (Jessica), Katie (Matt), Krista, Alexandria and Brandon, two great grandchildren; Brady and Tula, two brothers; Calvin (Rita) Whitney and Roger (Phyllis) Whitney, and one sister; Caroline (Charlie) Pagel. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; Frank and Mildred (Treiber) Whitney and his father-in-law and mother-in-law; John and Isabel Solgat. A Celebration of His Life will take place Tuesday evening January 29, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Deacon Michael Arnold.
