David R. Skinner passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center, at the age of 90. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and was the son of the late Frank and Doris Skinner.
David was a graduate of Indiana University where he earned his degree in Broadcasting and became a nightly News Anchor for over 5 years and then went on to earn his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
David devoted 59 years of his life to the practice of law through Skinner Professional Law Corporation. He was an avid lover of art, music and cultural exploration through travel and study. He also enjoyed watching Indiana and Michigan College Sporting events. He had a passion for electronic and computer technology. One of his greatest enjoyments was driving and showing off his Tesla car. In his younger days he enjoyed flying his airplane and sailing the Great Lakes. Above all he cherished the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his son, David (Diane) Skinner; his siblings, Richard (Annabelle) Skinner, Nancy (Don) Hill, Jackie Cram, Mickey (Rich) Linneweh, and Beth (Daniel) Payne; his grandchildren, Zachery Skinner (Fiance Emily Gray) and Haley (Nick) Nellett; his special friend, Robert Lee; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ronald Cram.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Sheffield Bay Assisted Living. The warmth and compassion they had was overwhelming.
Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will be held at a later date.
