Deborah Ann Wells

We lost a truly beautiful spirit in Deborah Wells on May 28, 2010. She never lost her wonderful sense of humor and smile during her heroic eleven year battle against cancer. She passed away at Brian's House of Hospice surrounded by her loving family and friends. Deb was a wonderful warm, loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who will be forever missed by those who were blessed to know her. Deb is survived by her daughter Jennifer Wells, Loving Mother and Step-father Mary and Robert Wilkinson, Sister Cheryl Ratynski, Nieces and Nephews Stacey and Ryan Ratynski, Jessica and Justin Wells, Sister-in-law Lori Wells. Deb was predeceased by her brother-in-law Joseph Ratynski. Deb was born September 9, 1957 in Bay City and spent her lifetime there. After receiving her teaching degree from Saginaw Valley State University, she proceeded to teach at St. Josaphat's in Carrollton, Michigan. While working on her nursing degree, Deb worked in the home health care field, taking care of others making them laugh. She went on two medical missions to Mexico, helping to bring vision to the less fortunate. Deb loved sports, especially softball, which she played competitively for many years. She loved her dog Rocco, her faithful companion and friend. A special thank you to the staff at Brian's House, the nurses of 3-east at Bay Regional Medical Center and Dr. Jonathan Abramson for the loving care they provided to Deb. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Monday, May 31, 2010 at 11:00 am at Gephart Funeral Home Located at 201 W. Midland St. of Bay City. Officiating will be Sr. Joanne Toohey, O.P. Visitation will take place on Sunday May 30, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 and 5:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to wishes of the family.
