Dolores Virginia Lijewski

Mrs. Lijewski passed away Sunday, January 13, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 88 years. The daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Luptowski) Gwizdala was born January 21, 1924 in Bay City. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella and the former Hand Bell Choir at the church. Mrs. Lijewski enjoyed spending time with her family and reading. She is survived by three children and their spouses; Walter and Rosemarie Lijewski of Clayton, MI, Donald and Susan Lijewski of Kawkawlin, MI and Rosanne and Douglas Haberland of Bay City, MI, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, her brother and sister-in-law; Joseph and Irene Gwizdala. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband; Walter Lijewski on January 2, 2006, her son; Thomas Lijewski, one brother; Conrad Gwizdala, one sister; Virginia Weber and one grandchild; Bonnie Jean Schmidt. The Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal will be celebrated Friday, January 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Richard M. Filary with private interment in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Lijewski will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
