Donald L. Fry

Donald L. Fry, a devoted father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at Bayfield Assisted Living, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 18, 1957, in Bay City, Michigan, Donald lived a life rich in love, dedication, and hard work.

For 40 years, Donald built a respectable career as a welder at Consumers Energy, where he became known for his unwavering commitment and skilled craftsmanship. His exemplary work ethic inspired those around him, and he took immense pride in his contributions to the community.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Donald cherished time spent with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Breann, Autumn, Mia, Matthew, Leah, Allie, and Brantley brought joy and laughter that filled his days with warmth. He adored sharing adventures with them, whether through simple moments or exciting outings, and his legacy will undoubtedly live on through their vibrant memories of him.

Donald enjoyed exploring the great outdoors, finding peace while camping, hiking, and riding his motorcycle. He approached these hobbies with a spirit of adventure, relishing the opportunity to connect with nature. Additionally, his passion for woodworking allowed him to craft beautiful pieces that will forever remind his family of his talent and creativity.

He is survived by his special friend, Merry Stone; his children, Robert (Jess) Fry, Douglas (Brandi) Fry, and Lisa Fry; his beloved grandchildren; his brothers, Bill (Valerie) Fry, Jim (Sherry) Fry, Todd (Ellen) McFarland, Rod (Donna) McFarland, and Brian (Theresa) McFarland; and his sister-in-law, Sue Fry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Thelma (Pritchard) Fry, and his brother, Thomas Fry.

A Funeral Service for Donald will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Gephart Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to wishes of the family.
