Donald E. Good Bay City, Michigan Our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at his residence at the age of 82 years. The son of the late Earl and Masel (Martin) Good was born March 20, 1933 in Hurricane, West Virginia. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines from 1950 to 1980. He served active duty in the Korean Conflict, was flying as a RIO/NAV and retired as a Master Sgt. After his retirement he became an independent oil/gas producer and was affiliated with Elek Oil Company. Don was a Life Member of B.P.O.E. # 88, a member of P.L.A.V. Post 162, American Legion Post 18, Bay County Veterans Council, Marine Corps League, past commander and Chef de Gare of the 40/8, Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and the Bay County Democratic Party. Don enjoyed meeting with his American Legion buddies at the round table and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. On November 28, 1984 he married his wife of 31 years the former Marilyn (Berkobien) DeShone in Honolulu, Hawaii and she is left to cherish his memories along with one daughter and son-in-law; Deborah and Robert Koons of Austin, TX, three grandchildren; Emily and Ryan Jae, Betsy Koons and Ben Koons, three step children; Vicki Roupe, Cindy Doyle both of Bay City and Doug DeShone of Jacksonville, FL, three step grandchildren; Paul and Ashley Ruegsegger, Nicole Beson and Elysha DeShone, three step great grandchildren; Kale Ruegsegger, Colten Beson and Landrey Beson, two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; Ed and Maddy Berkobien, and Debbie and Dave Gembrowski, his nephews and many special friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law; Bonnie and Claude. Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Charles F. Campbell under the auspices of the United States Marines and the Bay County Veterans Council. A Private Committal Service will take place at Elm Lawn Park Cemetery and Mausoleum. The family will be present at the funeral home to receive visitors on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Members of the U.S. Marines Corp League, P.L.A.V. Post #162 and the American Legion will conduct a memorial service Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to American Legion Post 18.
