Donald J. Kielpinski "Don"

Don passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Hampton Manor of Adrian, Michigan at the age of 90. He was born on June 17, 1933 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Floyd and Christine (Majchrzak) Kielpinski. He was a proud member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. He was very involved in the food pantry and was a eucharist minister for them as well. He worked for Jennison Hardware for many years as a purchasing agent. After Don retired, he tutored second graders in reading at one of the local elementary Schools. He loved going to polka dances with his wife, Marie and attending his granddaughter’s music programs. He enjoyed bowling, gardening and baking, especially different kinds of breads. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Detroit Tigers fan. He was a very loving father and grandfather, his granddaughters were his pride and joy, he would do anything for them.

Don is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marie Kielpinski; daughter, Kendra (Steven) Shields; granddaughters, Sarah (Nicolas) Martinez, Rachel Shields and Rebecca (Corey) Schwartzkopf; one great granddaughter, Isabel Martinez; sisters, Arlene Quamme and Marcia (Daniel) Wiedyk; brother, Leonard Kielpinski; brother-in-law, Robert Przygocki; sister-in-law’s, Dixie Fleming, Sylvia Fleming, Elsie Fleming, Sherry (Henry) Breaux and Betty Fick and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Kielpinski; sister, Cynthia Przygocki and brother-in-law’s, Michael Quamme, Thomas Fleming, William Fleming and Donald Fleming.

Funeral Mass for Don will be taking place on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish with interment to follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. James Bessert. The family will be present to receive visitors at Gephart Funeral Home on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Catherine of Siena Parish Food Pantry.
