Donald R. Smith

Don passed away early Sunday morning, January 20, 2013 at Covenant Health Care-Cooper at the age of 86 years.The son of the late Norman Dwight and Dora (Lyke) Smith was born April 10, 1926 in Ann Arbor MI. Don retired from GMAC after 30 years of service. He was a member of Eagles Aries #1010 and the American Legion Post #18. Don enjoyed boating and woodworking. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He is survived by his wife Alice Trimble Smith of Bay City, one son; Donald R. (Pam) Smith of Ocala, FL, his step-children; Tari (Lyn) Detzler of Bay City, Thomas (Emily) Trimble of Bay City, Timothy (Tina) Trimble of Corpus Christi, TX, Todd Trimble of Birmingham, AL, Tamara Duke of Essexville, Bob and Chris Zingg, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren, one sister-in-law; Barbara Smith of Oswego, ILL. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers; Rodger and Phillip Smith. At Don's request cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Hooligan's Food and Spirits 3022 N. Water St. Bay City, MI.
