Donna Rosebush, 71, of Sanford, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, surrounded by love at Woodland Hospice House in Mount Pleasant.
Born in Bay City, Donna graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1972. After completing dental training in Rochester, NY, she launched a career that would span decades in the dental field. From her early days chairside to her years as a Practice Management Consultant, Donna brought passion and precision to the profession, and she took great pride in helping practices thrive.
A creative soul and born hostess, Donna was probably best known for going overboard (in the best way) with her seasonal decorating, party planning, and landscaping. From her legendary Christmas trees to the “do-not-touch” guest towels in her bathrooms, she made sure every detail was always dialed in perfectly. Her yard could rival most botanical gardens and often did, and the food and beverage presentation at her parties was always spot-on.
Donna loved watching birds at her feeders, boating, and living on Sanford Lake, where she spent many years making memories with family and friends. Her personality was big, fun, particular, and unforgettable. She was big on traditions and kept them alive with a joyful insistence that was admirable.
One of her greatest joys came from being “Grammy” to her beloved grandchildren, Grady and Reyna. She was their biggest cheerleader, always keeping up with their games and milestones, and never missing a chance to call or text with congratulations or comforting words. She loved their visits to Michigan each summer, and she’d run herself ragged making sure every moment they shared was magical, and they always were.
Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Sturm; stepfather, Mike Sturm; brother, Richard Clarke; and stepbrother, Chuck Sturm.
She is survived by her loving friend, companion, and caregiver, Dennis Kucharczyk; her children, Ryan (Molly) Rosebush and Heidi (Tim) Finley; her siblings, Barbara (Tom) Nanzig and Jim Cooper; her grandchildren, Grady and Reyna Rosebush; and many cherished cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends.
The family would also like to recognize the incredible friends and neighbors who continually showed up with food, visits, and love throughout Donna’s illness.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, from 4:00–8:00 PM at Gephart Funeral Home in Bay City, and again on Friday, July 18, from 10:00–11:00 AM at Corpus Christi Parish (formerly Holy Trinity Catholic Church). A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 AM, with a luncheon immediately afterward. All are welcome to attend and share stories, hugs, and perhaps a few laughs—just the way she would have wanted.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Team Gleason, a wonderful organization dedicated to improving the lives of those living with ALS.
