Doris passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 1, 2025 at Brian’s House in Essexville, Michigan at the age of 80. She was born to the late Elmer and Stella (Powlowski) Knoellinger on July 20, 1945 in Bay City, Michigan. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Doris enjoyed going to the drag races with her sons and spending time with her grandchildren. She was always so supportive, loving and hardworking. She worked as a product deliverer for Carquest/Advanced Auto for 29 years, and at the same time, she worked for Kmart for 12 years.
Doris is survived by her children, Wayne (Jacklyn) Marcet Jr., Michael (Jessica) Marcet and Billy (Mandi Kole) Marcet; daughter-in-law, Beverly Marcet; grandchildren, Steven Marcet, Andrew Marcet, Ryan Dirla and Matthew Marcet; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jan Adamski; 11 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her Husband, Wayne Marcet, they shared 57 years of marriage together before his passing in 2022. She was also preceded in death by her son, Terry Marcet; brothers, Donald (Garnetta) Knoellinger and Wayne (Janice) Knoellinger; sisters, Delphine (Walt) Garbulinski and Carolyn (Leo) Stratton and brother-in-law, Ron Marcet.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Brian's House for making them feel like family and supporting them throughout this difficult time. They would also like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice and the nurses on the 5th Floor at MyMichigan Midland Hospital for all their care and compassion.
Funeral service for Doris will take place on September, Saturday 6, 2025 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. with entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Zach Steinke. The family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home and on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church or Brian’s House.
