Doris Jean Waldbauer, our loving wife, mother and grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 27, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born on March 16, 1932 to the late Paul Melvin Smith and Elizabeth (Carlisle) Smith. She married Richard E. Waldbauer, her husband of 70 years on April 5, 1952. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran church on Alp St. and enjoyed reading, gardening, bible study classes and spending time with her grandchildren.
They have been blessed with three children, David (Donna) Waldbauer, Timothy Waldbauer and Sue (Bill) Glass; grandchildren, Brandi Waldbauer, Paul and Sara Waldbauer, Danielle and Joseph Liberati, Jackie and James Otto, Eric and Sarah Ritter, Eleven great grandchildren, Mason, Abby, Leah, Teylar, Aubree, Silas, Mya, Maverick, Madison, Kaden and Adrienne; two sisters, Shirley Fager and Carol (Steve) Snyder and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her son, Tim Waldbauer and two brothers, Paul M. Smith and Richard J. Smith.
At the request of Mrs. Waldbauer cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe. Visitation will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for St. John's Ev. Lutheran School will be available at the funeral home.
