Dorothy L. Loessel

Dorothy L. Loessel, 95, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 22 at Carriage House Nursing and Rehab.  Beloved aunt of Sandra (Marvin) Meinz of Bedford, NH, Mark (Carol) Loessel of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Margo (James) Carson of Maineville, OH, she was preceded in death by her parents Christian and Laura (Lane) Loessel and her brother Dr. Earl Loessel. Dorothy was born May 17, 1926 and was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church.  After graduating from Northeastern School of Commerce in 1954, she worked as a secretary for Consumers Power Company, the University of Michigan, and the United States Court System.  Always good-natured, she enjoyed children, animals, and being with family. She was treasured by her great-nieces and great-nephew and their families and was a loving nanny to Meghan and Ryan.  Private burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery on September 2, 2021. Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Bay County Humane Society.
