Mrs. Dorothy Frances Pawlowski, of Bay City, passed away early Friday morning, November 29, 2013 at Bayfield Assisted Living in Bay City, age 88. The daughter of the late Frank & Mary (Sprygada) Wieszczecinski, she was born on October 4, 1925 in Bay City. While visiting her Aunt in New York City, Dorothy met Stanley Pawlowski, who at the time was stationed there with the U.S. Navy during WWII, and after only four days of courtship, they were married on May 4, 1944 in New York. As the wife of a career Navy man, Dorothy lived in many places throughout the United States, between Bay City, California, Florida, New York and Virginia and continued to enjoy traveling during retirement. Dorothy worked for 20 years as the Party Manager for Casserole Catering in San Diego, CA. Following their retirement, Dorothy and Stanley settled in Bay City where she found great joy taking care of her family. Her family meant everything to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was well known for continuing her excellent catering and cooking skills at home for her family gatherings and holidays. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 69 years, Stanley Pawlowski; her son and daughter-in-law, Stanley (Joanne) Pawlowski, Jr. of Bay City; grandchildren, Brian (Julie) Pawlowski of Monroe, NC and Kristin (Brad) Monaghan of Bay City; her four cherished great-grandchildren, Connor, Brendan and Sean Monaghan and Wesley Pawlowski; one sister, Romaine (Joseph) Wongrowski of Bay City; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Wieszczecinski and Doris Miller, both of Bay City; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Irwin (Rita) Wieszczecinski, Archie Miller and Raymond Wieszczecinski. The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Joseph A. Schabel. Private interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Pawlowski will lie instate at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family for a designation to be determined later.
