Dr. Lawrence Edward Meyer "Larry" "Brownie"

Dr. Meyer passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Bay Field Assisted Living, with his family by his side at the age of 96. He was born March 5, 1925 to the late Leonard and Mollie (Rowda) Meyer in Bay City, Michigan. Dr. Meyer was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for over 50 years. He proudly served his county in the Marine Corps during WWII and enjoyed everything to do with the Marines and reading about WWII. Dr. Meyer enjoyed dancing, gardening, fishing and spending time with his family.

Dr. Meyer is survived by his wife of 32 years, Amalia "Valerie" (Villarreal) Meyer, who he married June 16, 1989; three daughters, Christie Stanton, Wendy (Dennis) Zimmer and Lori Bukaweski; step-daughter, Mary Lynn Forgash; step-son, Paul Forgash; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Edna Meyer and Beverly Walker. In addition to his parents, Dr. Meyer is preceded in death by his late wife, Elaine Girard-Meyer.

At the request of Dr. Meyer, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Gephart Funeral Home. The Bay County Veterans will be conducting Military Honors prior to the Memorial Service. Officiating will be Pastor Gary Bender. Private entombment will take place at a later date. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. In Lieu of Flowers, Contributions may be made to the Bay County Veterans Affairs.
