Earl passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison at the age of 94. The son of the late Edward and Elma (Myers) Bibbee was born June 3, 1927 in Mineral Wells, WV. Earl served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and was an avid golfer and bowler. He retired from the Bay City Times in 1996, where he worked as a pressman for 37 years. He attended Westminster Presbyterian Church, loved doing crossword puzzles and playing cards. He played baseball, basketball, and softball and coached in the Southwest Little League for several years.
Earl is survived by his wife of over 75 years, Doris "Herbie" Bibbee; eight children, Charles (Darlene) Bibbee, Bessie Roper, Andrew (MaryEllen) Bibbee, Mary (Bob) Krieg, Ruth Ostrander (Michael Martin), Josie (Randy) Gray, Audrey (Brent) Clay and Phoebe (Gordon) Lutz; 24 grandchildren, Evan and Nicole Bibbee, James Roper, Beschelle Lockhart, Theodore Roper, Talia Richardson, Herschel Roper, Keowa Vasquez, Kyre Blair, Matthew Krieg, Audrey Kokidko, Joshua Ostrander, Phoebe Kannisto, Dustin, Taryn and Miranda Gray, Samara Wolf, Alyssa Gilmour, Brenna Dennison, Andrew and Emma Clay, Karissa, Taylor and Quinn Lutz; 58 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Dunbar; three sisters-in-law, Tommy Evans, Heidi Cavins and Bonnie Cavins; many nieces and nephews; also surviving are Barbara Bibbee, Herschel Roper and John Ostrander. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Timothy Baker and Lindsay Ruth Clay and one sister, Evelyn Jones.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Westminster Presbyterian Church youth group and deacons.
