Edith E. Laubhan

Laubhan, Edith E. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Laubhan passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at her residence. Age 81 years. The daughter of the late Herbert and Martha (Floeter) Schulz was born May 22, 1928 in Berlin, Germany. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and sang in the choir. Mrs. Laubhan was a member of the German Ladies Club, Y.W.C.A. Swim Group and the L.F.A. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting afghans for all family members, gardening and maintaining her many flower beds. She is survived by her husband Henry Laubhan whom she married on August 23, 1947 in St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Also surviving are two daughters; Barbara Laubhan and Karin (Max) Hansen, her grandson; Lars (Yvette) Burggren, her granddaughter; Erika (Casey) Burggren, twin great grandbabies; Adrian Lars and Isla Mariedi Burggren; two sisters; Waltraud Mannewitz and Renate (Manfred) Hartmann, one brother; Joachim (Helga) Mueller and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Dr. Dandamudi, Mari Shall R.N. and Dawn, the McLaren Hospice staff; Karin, Tammy, Terri and Dr. Parmer for their kind and compassionate care. Funeral and committal services will take place Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Laubhan will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
