Elaine passed away Monday, February 21,2022, peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 73 yrs. She was born in Bay City on September 29, 1948, to the late John and Rose George. Elaine grew up in the Kawkawlin area and attended Handy High School in Bay City. Elaine was a dedicated and loving mother to her 2 daughters, Julie and Melanie. She raised her family in Pinconning with her ex-husband (now deceased) Melvin Gerard. She also loved being a snowbird in which she would spend her winters in Port Charlotte, Fl. and travel back (only when weather got above 60°) to her home off two-mile rd. in Bay City.  Elaine enjoyed reading, traveling, shopping, spoiling her grandchildren, and was an avid golfer. She loved dining out and could strike up a conversation at any given moment with fellow patrons. Elaine was proceeded by her little guy (Yorkie), she lovingly referred to her daughters as their "fur" brother. She was an active donor to her favorite charities such as Linwood Lions Club, Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, United Negro College Fund, and Ladies Auxiliary Club at Kings Way County Club.
Elaine is survived by her daughters Julie M. (Christopher) Kruskie-Zywicki, Melanie A. Gerard (Glenn Breton) Gerard-Breton; grandchildren, Jake L. Kruskie, Kevin-Jon G. Breton and Chaning M. Kruskie; great-grandchild Isabella R. Kruskie: sisters, Beverly Huff, Gladys Spyhalski, Patricia (Norman)Schnell, Barbara (David) Ramos, Roseann George; Brothers, John Jr., Robert George, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents (John Sr. and Rose) she was proceeded by her brother Andrew and brother-in-law Norman Schnell.
Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 28, 2022, at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with interment in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Twining, Michigan. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
