Elaine passed away peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years of age. Elaine was born on March 18, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late James and Mildred (Thornton) Crandall. Elaine Married the love of her life, Donald R. Manning Sr. On November 27, 1948. They were happily married for 64 years.
Don and Elaine were blessed to have nine children, Connie (Kim) Clark, Kay (Kevin Mallon) Ferguson, Susan (Tom) Gehrls, Donald Jr. (Cathy) Manning, Mary Jo (Patrick) McKenna, Daniel (Lori) Manning, Patricia (Jesus) Manning-Perez, James (Maureen) Manning and John Patrick Manning; Don and Elaine were also blessed to have twenty grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Elaine dedicated her life to her family, enjoying her time with her grandchildren, was a diehard Detroit Tiger fan and was very proud of sharing her Tiger room filled with an extensive Collection of Tiger memorabilia. She was also an avid collector of light houses, Thomas Kinkade and jigsaw puzzles. She was a competitive Euchre player and had a passion for winning. She had a true love of nature and took pleasure in watching deer and birds in her backyard up north.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Carriage House for watching over our beloved mother in her final days!
Funeral Service will take place on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home with interment following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. For those planning an expression of sympathy, may consider a donation to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Association.
