Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother passed away Friday November 27th, 2020 at Sheffield place at the age of 95. She was born November 12th, 1925 to the late John and Louisa Voss. Eleanor was a devoted member of the St. Paul Lutheran of Frankenlust. On June 8th 1946, Eleanor married Howard Schlicker, and they established their family farm in Bay City, MI. She was a hard worker, always helping her husband on the farm, where you could find her driving the tractor topping beets and bailing hay, tending to the cattle, or hoeing the fields. When she was not helping in the fields you could find her tending to her garden, especially her roses and raspberries, and it was always a special treat to get a piece of her raspberry pie, which everyone loved. Eleanor also loved crocheting and knitting, especially washcloths and scrubbies, and making baby and doll blankets for the family. You could always guarantee there would be a puzzle on the table and the Detroit Tigers in the background when you stopped by. Even though Eleanor loved to stay busy, her most cherished time was the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing ball, fishing, and playing a good game of cards.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children Diane (Robert) Hofford, Donna (Kevin) Church, Cheryl (Jim) Duncan, and Robert (Gail) Schlicker, 11 grandchildren; Brooke (Robert) Rosas, Todd (Brenda) Bosco, Brandon (Ashley) Church, Heidi (Jason) Clemmons, Tyler and Brianna Duncan, Kristen (Nathan) Kolberg, Matthew (Kayla) Schlicker, Jason (Stacy) Schlicker, and Joshua (Samantha) Schlicker. 19 great-grandchildren; Anthony, Eric, and Francesca Rosas, Olivia and Ivy Bosco, Bryce, Jackson, and Gavin Church, Taylor (Austin) Klein, Rhiley and Zoe Clemmons, Brynlee and Ryker Kolberg, Lukas, Espen, and Norah Schlicker, Calvin and Violet Schlicker, 2 great-great grandchildren; Hudson and Greyson Klein. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Howard on May 29th, 1995. Also she was preceded in death by her grandson Eric Bosco and Great Granddaughter Elliana Kolberg.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sheffield Place, April and Kris from Amara Hospice, and Rachel and Jodi from Legacy Therapy for the special care given to Eleanor.
