Elizabeth "Libby" Ann Stringer

Libby was promoted to heaven on Thursday, August 4, 2022, with her family by her side at the age of 81 years. She was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on November 10, 1940, to the late Horace and Mattie (Whitehead) Henderson. On February 27, 1960, she married Robert Stringer and they were married for 62 years. Libby was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Midland and a previous member of New Life Missionary Church of Bay City. She worked and retired in 1998 from Delta College as an executive secretary. In her spare time, she loved to spend time with her family, friends, special couples and Scrabble friends. Libby also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading, cooking, baking and traveling. She especially loved doing crafts with her grandchildren, singing in the choir and being part of Bible studies for many years.
Libby is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Debra Stringer, Todd (Christie) Stringer and Tim Stringer; grandchildren, Erin Mayhew, Jameson Mayhew, Caleb Stringer, Logan Stringer and Macey Stringer; brother, Hugh Henderson (Roberta Watson); sister-in-law, Nancy Heaps and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia Honeycutt and Sheila Swanger; and Karen Smith who was like a sister to Libby.
At the request of Libby, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church in Midland, Michigan. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Dickerson. Friends and family may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Thursday, August 11, 2022. From 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or Brian's House.
