Mrs. Dietlein passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Colonnades Assisted Living at the age of 96. The daughter of the late Edward and Nora (Schmidt) Lisius was born October 20, 1925 in Hubbard, Michigan. Elsie was a member of St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church and a former member of the Ladies Aid. She was an avid card player and enjoyed the 4-H, square dancing, traveling and quilting.
Mrs. Dietlein is survived by her two sons, James (Jane) Dietlein and Barry (Cheeta) Dietlein; one daughter, Susan (Philip) Loth; three grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther Hempel; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Irene Seafert, Ilene Dietlein, Earl and Gloria Dietlein and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Elsie was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Dietlein on March 20, 2015, whom she married on August 23, 1947. Also predeceasing her are: great grandson, Jared Dietlein; two brothers, Harold Lisius and Elmer Lisius; one sister, Irma Gies; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul Schwiebert, Marion Lisius, Doris Schwiebert, Art Dietlein, Gordon Hemple, Frank Seafert, Lorna and Frank Douponce, Elmer Gies and Agnes Lisius.
Funeral and Committal Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Seafert with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church will be available.
