Evelyn A. Piotrowski

Piotrowski, Evelyn A. Lansing, Michigan Formerly of Bay City Our wonderful mother passed away March 22, 2012 at the age of 89. She was born in Bay City, May 22, 1922, the youngest daughter of Michael and Martha Wachowski. She will be remembered for her delicious Polish cooking and hospitality and the genuine compliments she extended to everyone. Evelyn was formerly employed as a cook for 16 years by Huron Woods nursing home in Linwood. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Evelyn served as a member of the VFW Post 5960, and volunteered at Bay Medical Center. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Frank in 2000, and daughter Julie Ann, seven brothers, Corey, Ed, Leo, John, Paul, Walter and Eugene and four sisters, Delphine, Victoria, Alice and Helen. Evelyn is survived by two sons, Tom (Marlys) of Houston, TX and James (Rose) Petrie of Portland, OR, and two daughters, Sandra (Bob) Younkin of Grand Rapids and Mary (Gary) Ehmen of Lansing, one sister-in-law Dorothy Wachowski; grandchildren, Laura (Karsten) Lies of Berkley, MI; Karen Piotrowski of Dallas, TX, Ryan (Korin) Rasmussen of Portland, OR; Kurt (Katy) Piotrowski, and Michael and Brittany Ehmen of Lansing and three great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Craig L. Albrecht. Private inurnment will be in St. Anne Cemetery, Linwood. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 10th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Piotrowski will be taken to the church to lie in state on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Memorial cards for wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
