Mr. Keller passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born July 11, 1925 in Bay City, MI. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Mr. Keller was the custodian at Zion Lutheran Church before retiring. He also worked at Dow Chemical, Wellman's and R.A.P.P. Products. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and enjoyed playing horseshoes, playing on leagues for 45 years. Mr. Keller proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, received the Purple Heart in W.W. II and was a member of Amvets Post #22, Bay City. Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife the former Ruth Ann Eldridge whom he married June 9, 1951; his children and their spouses, Diane and Ron Watson; Frederick and Tera Keller Jr.; Jeff Keller; Nola and Rick Adler; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Eldridge and his brother-in-law; Richard Chesney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Mary Keller; one brother Ruben Keller; two sisters, Martha Foldie and Elsie Stanley. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to McLaren Visiting Nurse Services and Hospice and McLaren Bay Special Care for the kind and compassionate care our loved one received during his time of need. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Saturday, October 10 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church 510 W. Ivy St. Bay City, Michigan 48706. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt with Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Private burial will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Members of Amvets Post #22 will meet at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7;00 p.m. to conduct the White Clover Ceremony. Mr. Keller will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider donations to Zion Lutheran Church.
