Gail Ann Jones

Gail passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Sheffield Bay Assisted Living at the age of 84. She was born in Bay City, Michigan on February 17, 1939 to the late Emil and Esther (Strieter) Schuman. She was a founding member of Faith Lutheran Church. Gail was an amazing mom, grandma and great-grandma. She was a very gracious and kind woman who always put everyone elses needs first before her own. Gail loved taking care of her yard and going to the casino with her friends.
Gail is survived by her children, Steven (Deborah) Jones, Cheryl (James) Varnum and Michael Jones; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeremy) Coberley, Brad (Samantha) Jones, Matthew Varnum, Christina Varnum, Kaycee (Jon) Schnider and Haley Jones; great grandchildren, Kelsey Coberley, Skylar Coberley, Ethan Coberley, Steeda Hall, A.J. Hall, Robert Jones and Steven Jones; several nieces and nephews as well as sister-in-laws, Judy Schuman, Donna Merrill and Shirley Kutch. Gail also had many friends, including two since childhood, Jake and Judy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jones, whom she was married to for 49 years before his passing in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Schuman.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Sheffield Bay and the nurses at Careline Hospice for the compassionate care they gave to mom.
Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, with entombment to follow at Oakwood Mausoleum. Officiating will be Rev. Steven Thiel. The family will be present to receive visitors at the Church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
