Gary T. McPhee

Gary passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at the age of 90. He was born on February 5, 1936 to the late Floyd and Marion (Bosley) McPhee. He was a proud United States Coast Guard Veteran and was the Fire Marshall for the Bay City Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed golfing and lawn bowling, and was involved with the car club and was a very enthusiastic classic car owner and admirer. He walked the Bay City mall every single day for the last 20 years, his friends there will miss him every day.

Gary is survived by his children, Scott (Debbie) McPhee, Brenda (Mario) Ricciardi, Andrew (Lisa) McPhee, Michael (Brenda) Gonyea and Lori (Ronald) McLaurin. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Ashley, Jacob (Jessica), Christian, Nicholas (Amitis), Brittany (Sam), Brandon, Andrew, Zachary, Kelly and Deana, as well as six great-grandchildren, Jack, Kennedy, Brooke, Kian, Cyra and Alice, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his sister, Katheen Lauria. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marcia McPhee; son, Dr. Jeffrey McPhee and sister, Shirley VanGall.

At the request of Gary, Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Gephart Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered to the Bay City Fire Department, please make checks out to the City of Bay City Fire Division.
