George Joseph Allen

George passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Candlestone Assisted Living at the age of 88. The son of the late Ernest and Mildred (Briggs) Allen was born June 29, 1936 in Saginaw, Michigan. George served his country in the U.S. Army and enjoyed woodworking, camping and his pets, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. 

George is survived by his four children, Victoria Richards, Denise Zoellner, Kathryn (Frederick) Graves and Timothy (Lisa) Allen; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Kelley and Mildred Otter and many other nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Ruth Allen; son, Michael Allen; brothers, Howard Allen, Ernest Allen, Jim Allen and David Allen and his sisters, Edna McFadden, Helen Kingry and Edith Allen.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tabby from CorsoCare Hospice for the compassion and care that she gave to George.

A memorial service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Kelley. Inurnment will take place at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to CorsoCare Hospice.
